CI is currently looking to fill the following position(s);
1) Operations & Support Assistant - Internship
Location: London
Start: 02 January 2008
Duration: 3-6 months
Salary: n/a (transport, lunch and discretionary contribution tbd)
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager on a daily basis, you will cover a central role within CI as a pivotal contact for all Operations and Support activities of CI's Digital Content Management (DCM) audio and video service.
You will be running the day-to-day front line support of the DCM service helping CI clients, Digital Retailers and the internal Production team involved in Content ingestion (Import) and Delivery process (Export).
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Monthly Reports and Assistance to Board reports for the Ops manager
- Checking DCM monthly reporting and clients' Invoices
- Overseeing CI's Websites content update
- Manage Digital Music Retailers integration process with CI's systems
- Organise and minute weekly meetings
- Assist the accounts admin with DCM activity
- Market and data analysis, research to support reports.
- Office Admin tasks (phone, courier organising, contacting suppliers ...)
- Other Duties arising from the ever-changing and fast moving industry
- BA/BSCs in a social studies/economics (not essential) or BA in Media Studies
- Meticulous, organised and precise nature. Multitasking is essential and a daily reality
- Good knowledge of Excel, use of email and web-based interfaces
- Excellent communication skills (Fluent English; additional European language a plus)
- Must be able to take initiatives, work both independently and as part of a team.
- Meet deadlines, expect punctual pressure, and synthesize situations quickly
- Passion for music and strong interest in technology-driven services essential
- General knowledge of the music industry would be a plus

2) Financial Controller: Part Time
This position would suit an experienced, self-motivated and ambitious Financial Controller. Working with the Managing Director you will oversee all accounting functions. This includes ongoing financial control, and extends to helping prepare budgets, board reports and financial plans. As CI grows there is potential for this role to expand to Financial Director. CI is a technology service company, so an understanding of global supply-chain businesses would be beneficial.
Mandatory skills
- Day-to-day functions of the financial systems - Purchase Orders, Invoices, etc.
- Correspondence with Inland Revenue; Custom and Excise and others
- Preparing Management Accounts for Monthly and Quarterly Meetings
- Working capital management
- Payroll
- Preparation of end of year accounts for audit
- Managing Freelancer Tax Status
- Clarity of communication, written and oral
- Flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
- Meticulous and precise nature
- Understanding of internet service industries
- Understanding of the digital music sector
- Passion for music
Start: Immediate. Part time, growing from 1 day/week as CI grows.
